Celebrate Your Shape

Celebrate Your Shape is Grayce's campaign to promote body positivity. In today's world there are far too many attacks on women's self-worth and confidence. Women are shamed for being plus size, for being thin, or for simply being somewhere in the middle. It's sad, and we've had enough. We're taking back our right to feel proud in our own skin & working to make sure that at Grayce, each lady feels just that. We believe one of the best parts of our jobs is being able to help women feel beautiful. We exist to serve, celebrate, and empower women. We are passionate about carrying this mission out to ALL - every size, shape, color, orientation, or background. We want you to leave our stores CELEBRATING YOU!

“As long as I can remember, I have been plus size. Growing up, it used to really bother me. At first, I was ashamed of the body that I was in. I did everything I could to lose the weight then one morning I woke up and I was thin. After hours of working out during quarantine and barely eating, I was thin. However, every time I looked in the mirror, I still felt like the plus size girl. Once I got into college, it just hit me. I didn’t want to be ashamed anymore and I wanted to model! I wanted to show plus size women, especially African-American women that no matter what size you are we’re still beautiful in every way. I feel like the way to get my point across was to put myself into a position of uncomfortability so others can then be comfortable in who they are themselves. So, to little girl and or woman out there who see’s someone else when they look in the mirror. Break the glass.” -LeRay

"I am passionate about the Celebrate Your Shape Campaign because growing up I have always compared myself to others. Little girls everywhere don’t feel confident in their own bodies because of the way society portrays what is defined as beautiful. As I got older, I started loving myself and my body because I learned that I am beautiful in my own way. Every single person out there is perfect in their own unique way and no one can define that. I hope everyone out there understands and appreciates themselves no matter what color, size, or shape they are. I am proud of the women today that are making an effort to promote body positivity!" -Kimmie

“Being apart of this campaign has been so incredibly meaningful to me. As a little girl I constantly dreamed about my perfect wedding, and especially how beautiful I would look in my wedding dress. As I’ve grown, I’ve had to combat societal expectations and pressures about my body daily, and had to fight to feel at home in my own skin. I have found that it is so important not to lose sight of the same childlike optimism we felt while dreaming as children, especially when it comes to one of the most important days of our lives. A day that you should truly feel like a princess. This campaign has allowed me to feel what every bride should feel, beautiful in her own skin, and a kid at heart while being adorned with tulle and sparkles!” -Ava

“As someone who has struggled with body image and self love, this event means so much to me. In college I used to participate annually in a local self love photo shoot in honor of the National Association of Anorexia Nervosa and Associated Disorders. Being able to continue these events into my adult life has been so good for my mental wellbeing. Who doesn’t love getting dressed up and feeling good about themselves? It doesn’t matter your shape or size, Grayce has many styles and sizes so you can feel as beautiful at your try on as you would on your wedding day, which is why I got my dress from here! It’s so important to celebrate your difference because that’s what makes you, you, and you are beautiful!” -Michelle

“It was such a pleasure to be a part of Grayce’s Celebrate Your Shape campaign. In this generation, beauty standards have become absurd and heavily influence the way people view themselves and their worth, so it was inspiring to work with a group of girls from so many different backgrounds. As someone who doesn’t have much experience in front of the camera and may not fit into your typical picture perfect model, this campaign shed light on the fact that it doesn’t matter. Over the years I’ve learned that beauty truly comes down to who you are as a person and how you make others feel.” -Nathalie

“The objective of the “Celebrate Your Shape Campaign” is to make women of all shapes and sizes feel beautiful and accepted, as they may sometimes feel as if they’re not enough due to the different standards which people place on them. Grayce Bridal and Formal makes an effort to bring back body positivity in a nontoxic, loving manner and show women that there is a style for each and every single one of them. This campaign made me feel comfortable in my own skin and made me realize that I love the person in the mirror. Whether it’s your personality, looks, or body, to be loved is to be considered and accepted, and the only person’s acceptance that matters is your own.” -Aredvi

“I am incredibly passionate about the Celebrate Your Shape campaign. As someone who has always been considered a "bigger" girl, it has been difficult to find representation in the fashion industry and to feel beautiful. I have often felt self-conscious about my appearance and limited myself to the "typical" plus size fashion options. When Grayce Bridal invited me to participate in this campaign, I didn't hesitate. I want to show how powerful women can be when we showcase authentic images of those who do not fit the typical model mold. I am here for the women struggling to see their own beauty, the ones hesitant to wear a specific dress, those who are self-conscious about showing their arms, and those who simply want to say, "Hey, she looks like me!" This campaign is for all the little girls who feel invisible. That's why it was so important for me to participate. Little Layne would be proud to see that we overcame our reservations and showed up for ourselves.” -Layne

“As some of you may know, I am honored to be the Business Development leader of our Chattanooga Grayce location. Working with brides has given me the opportunity to see first hand just how meaningful it is for women to see themselves in the mirror and recognize their beauty. No matter what size, shape, height or race, we as women are our own worst critics myself included. I think we all know that no matter how much we are told we are beautiful, it can be hard to see it through our own eyes. This is why I’m so proud to have been able to be part of the Celebrate Your Shape Campaign. This campaign gives all different women an opportunity to see themselves represented, and I can only hope it empowers women everywhere to not only embrace the skin they’re in, but hopefully to celebrate it as well.” -Bailey
