4 Tips for guests
The people a bride brings with her to her bridal appointment are so important! As someone invited to be part of such a big life moment, you should feel so special! We know you love your girl big & want the best for her, so we put together our top tips on supporting your bride the day of her bridal appointment!
1. Make the day all about her!
From your lunch plans to the conversation - today is a day for the bride! Make a reservation at her favorite spot, share stories of your favorite memories together, and be sure to keep an eye on how she's feeling throughout the day! Sometimes brides will need less input from their group in order to figure out how they feel about a dress; some will need a supportive comment or reassurance here & there. Making the whole day one that centers around her needs will help her avoid feeling overwhelmed or distracted and instead focus on the love that she feels from her crew as she narrows down her dress search.
2. Connect with her stylist!
A great stylist knows the inventory and what compliments different body types. Use her knowledge to work together when sharing your thoughts on the perfect dress for your girl. Have a specific style you know she has all over her Pinterest board or see something on the racks you think she might like? Share the photos with or point it out to the stylist so she can pull that dress or a similar look in a perfect size and price point for the bride to try. Your stylist will pull dresses for you so that we ensure it's a price point we know she's okay with and a size that will make her feel great about her body! This helps keep the appointment a positive experience for the bride and keeps you involved in the process.
3. Support her decisions and feelings!
As stylist, our goal is always to make sure the bride finds her own voice and comes to a decision that is totally her own! We never want a bride to feel any sort of pressure one way or the other and so we love when her guests are on board with this goal as well! It's important to get the bride's reaction to a dress before sharing our own. If there is something holding her back or something she’s really not loving about a dress, resist the urge to tell her it’s totally the one! If she’s found the one she can envision herself walking down the aisle in, let her enjoy her moment saying yes rather than suggesting she leave and have to turn what should be an incredible memory into a transaction over the phone.
4. Celebrate with her!
She invited you to share this day with her, which means you hold a special place in her life & she wants you to enjoy today too! Keep the energy high & positive so everyone can truly enjoy themselves. Sit, back, relax & have fun! Take all the photos, shower her with compliments & be the hype girl everyone needs.
